For Our New Home

Hi, my name is Sierra. I’m 25 years old and this is my daughter Sharlene. She is 11 months!
From the moment I found out I was pregnant, life has been a battle.
We’ve been through so much: homelessness, financial hardship, and trying to survive with very little support.
Right now, we’re NOT staying at her Dad’s or at TESSA. Living situation is on and off in case things get heated again. We are safe but it’s all so confusing and having a home is different than a temporary home. All our belongings are scattered in my car, storage, and her Dad’s but I’m afraid I’ll lose my storage unit if I can’t keep up with payments.
I’m doing EVERYTHING I can! I’ve applied for housing, I’m WORKING while raising her, lost my food stamps, and YES I DO HAVE WIC and trying to stretch every dollar, but it’s still not enough to get us into a stable home.
Her Dad is a big help taking care of anything needed for our daughter but again with being informally evicted one week by him and then welcomed back the next.. I believe it’s still in my best interest to save money for a STABLE home moving forward.
Despite everything, Sharlene keeps me going. She’s the reason I keep pushing forward every single day. Her Dad provides as much as possible but it’s up to me to make sure she has a permanent home when she’s in my care!
