Momma D's Fight

Allow me to tell you about our friend Denise. She is the kindest, sweetest, most inspiring person that has ever touched my life. She directs her own studio, Denise Wall’s Dance Energy, in Virginia Beach, Virginia. She has taught dance for over 38 years across the country. Denise currently teaches weekends with NUVO Dance Convention, and travels to studios and dance intensives across the country for master classes as well. She loves her students with all her heart. Each and every one of her students has walked away from her classes a stronger and better dancer. More importantly, they have walked away an inspired and better person. 

A few years ago Denise was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. She fought a hard battle and thought she had won the fight. Unfortunately, the cancer has returned in full force and she is fighting the cancer on several difficult fronts. If anyone can win this fight, it will be Denise. She is a fighter extraordinaire.

Denise has given her everything to the dance world and would never ask for anything in return. Now it’s our turn to give back and help this exceptional woman.  As anyone with medical bills knows, they pile up fast and are not cheap (especially when insurance denies certain drugs that her body needs). She is taking on these bills, along with those from her initial diagnosis, as best as she can but help is still needed. 

In order for her to give this fight all she has, she will need to find breaks within her 7 days a week schedule. Anyone who knows Denise knows that needing to rest during her busy schedule will be hard for her, especially this time of year. She dedicates as many hours as she can to her students and we know she will try to maintain that schedule no matter what.  Being stressed about how to pay bills and survive will not add to her healing, but we would like to come together to help alleviate some of that stress. 

We have started this Go Fund Me page to give everyone the opportunity to help this great woman. Regardless of how little you can afford to give, every little bit will help. I urge you to consider helping our friend Denise. If you cannot donate at this time, please keep her in your prayers. She will be forever appreciative.
