Support Lauren's Family During this dificult time

Hello for those who don’t know me I am Lauren, Patricia’s Ducks daughter. On 6/30/25 I went for my first ever pregnancy ultrasound to find out I was having a medical complication That would result in me needing emergency surgery to terminate an invaluable pregnancy.

I had surgery on 7/1/25. I was out of work for two weeks . 7/4/25 My mom Patricia was diagnosed on with breast cancer. While waiting to get mom home on hospice care I was able to work while spending nights with her. For the last 3 week I have been my mother’s full time caregiver Along with my sister Michele and Rita. I wouldn’t trade that for the world being able to care for my mom during such already a difficult time for me. Unfortunately when caring for a terminally ill family member on such short time there is no paid leave for us to apply for. There is no assistance program that will offer assistance to our family in the time we will need it. It takes time to apply for assistance, applying for more insurance to then be eligible for programs/ benefits. Mom is already in the transitioning state. Right now our focus is on caring for our mother.

No one is ever prepared for losing a loved one.

I am forever gracious that god is allowing me the same time he allowed me to be with my dad as he is with my mom. But as we all know life don’t stop for the caregiver .

As a very independent person who never ask for a thing. It’s breaking my heart even more to create this gofund me to ask for your help. But my family and I I need your help.

Hola para quienes no me conocen, soy Lauren, la hija de Patricia. El 30/6/25 fui a mi primera ecografía de embarazo y descubrí que tenía una complicación médica que me obligaría a una cirugía de emergencia para interrumpir un embarazo tan importante. Me operaron el 1/7/25 y estuve dos semanas sin trabajar. El 4/7/25, a mi madre, Patricia, le diagnosticaron cáncer de mama. Mientras esperaba que mi madre volviera a casa para recibir cuidados paliativos, pude trabajar y pasar las noches con ella. Durante las últimas tres semanas, he sido la cuidadora de tiempo completo de mi madre, junto con mi hermana Michele y Rita. No cambiaría eso por nada del mundo: poder cuidar de mi madre en un momento tan difícil para mí. Desafortunadamente, al cuidar a un familiar con una enfermedad terminal en tan poco tiempo, no podemos solicitar una licencia remunerada. No existe ningún programa de asistencia que ofrezca asistencia a nuestra familia cuando la necesitemos. Solicitar ayuda y solicitar más seguros para luego ser elegible para programas y beneficios lleva tiempo. Mamá ya está en transición. Ahora mismo, nos centramos en cuidar a nuestra madre.

Agradezco infinitamente a Dios por permitirme estar con mi papá tanto tiempo como él con mi mamá. Pero como todos sabemos, la vida no se detiene para quien cuida.
