Molly's Medical Intervention
Donation protected
My cousin, Molly Ertmer has been diagnosed with a life threatening Cavernoma on her brainstem. Molly has been having frequent migraines and on May 2nd her migraines worsened. Her left pupil dilated and she had double vision, dizziness, and vomiting. Her mom (Bonnie Matsko Picard) took her to the ER and a CT scan revealed a bleed on her brain. She was then flown via Stat MediVac to Pittsburgh where she had several tests and more scans. MRI confirmed that this lesion had bled but did indeed stop.
The diagnosis of the Cavernous Malformation on the top of her brainstem with a Venous Anomaly (which is feeding the lesion) was confirmed. Surgical intervention locally cannot be performed because of the severity and location of this lesion.
It was recommended that Molly go to our countries leading Neurosurgical Center, which specializes in Cavernous Malformations on the brainstem. Borrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, Arizona. The doctors said that she should go as soon as possible because each time the lesion bleeds it grows in size and will cause further complications. This institute has had several success stories and I want Molly to be one of them, so she is able to live a long-fulfilled life.
Upon calling the institute we are happy to report that her insurance will be accepted, and they will be accepting her as a patient and they are currently reviewing her information.
This is my reason for starting this page, Dr. Michael Lawson has not medically cleared Molly to travel on an aircraft and therefore we must get her there by driving. Please look into your heart and if you could be of any assistance to Molly and her Mom, as they need help in securing funds for travel, lodging, and any other expenses this intervention may accrue. As you are considering this, first and foremost we are asking that you hold Molly in your prayers. We are going to do whatever it takes to get her the proper medical treatment.
Thank you and God Bless You!!!
