Mitch and Shannon Wilburn are walking through some scary health trials related to COVID19. Mitch and Shannon both contracted the virus in mid-October, and Mitch is now intubated. See Shannon's Facebook page for all the latest details and information regarding Mitch's health.
You all have been faithful to pray pray pray. Don't stop now! Many of you have delivered goodies, provided meals, run errands, and taken care of odd jobs for them. Others (lots of you) have asked "What can I do!?"
We have an idea! Let's bless Mitch and Shannon by planting some trees on their property!
Mitch and Shannon live in Jenks, OK, near Tulsa, and last November moved into their brand new home on 15 acres with a creek... affectionately known as Coal Creek Farm Jenks . They've been delighted to share it with so many of us...as family, friends, photographers...and even strangers when they opened it up to the public during the pandemic for Family Fun times when all the local parks were closed. (Click here to find out the full story of how Coal Creek Farm Jenks came to be!)
During a tornado in May 2019, they lost a lot of trees, some as old as 100 years. They've planted a few new trees in the past months, but have desired to have many more added to the property.
We thought it might be a nice way for us to show our support for Mitch and Shannon during this health crisis by planting some trees. We've been working with their landscaper on this project, and would love to bless them.
100% of the funds will be used for adding trees to Coal Creek Farms (minus what GFM charges...2.9% and $.30 for each transaction).
We know this community is amazingly generous, so it would not surprise us one bit if we surpass our fundraising goal. For any amounts donated ABOVE our stated "Root for Mitch" goal, we would like to honor Shannon and Mitch's love for giving by donating the extra funds to a special account set up to help/bless others who have been affected by COVID19 struggles. You might also like to know that Mitch and Shannon have great medical insurance and aren't expecting terrible medical bills. If that changes and you want to help, we can probably facilitate that. For now, we'll just focus on a FUN HAPPY project to bless Mitch and Shannon!!
We are so grateful to God and praise Him for all that He is doing and all that He will do on behalf of Mitch and Shannon. We also cannot thank YOU enough for loving the entire family so well and for continuing to pray. We know it means so very much to them and they feel totally and completely supported by your love! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
May each of the trees planted stand as a tribute to the faithfulness of God during this time...a testimony for years to come!!
