Who We Are:
- A Mission High School class raising funds in collaboration with the Mission High Foundation a 501c3 (tax code: 47-4047243).
- A group of incredibly empowered Mission High School students, and we are delighted to share that we have been offered an incredible opportunity to participate at the Model United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland. (January 8-14, 2018)
- The first public high school in San Francisco to attend the Model United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland, and the only school from the United States at the MUN during this cycle!
We want you to know that this opportunity will allow us a chance to practice creating new policies, engage with our peers from around the world in debating our perspectives, and bring unique diversity to the Model United Nations. We have been on the road together before and we would love to have this opporutnity to travel together again! Check out our last trip:
What We Need From You:
We will need approximately $1,000+ for each student, and we are hoping to raise this money as a collective community.
More About Us:
Mission High School is a public school in San Francisco where 69% of the students are socioeconomically disadvantaged, as such, your support is an opportunity for you to play a role in positively impacting the life of a hardworking San Francisco youth.
We are a group of incredibly diverse students with diverse histories, identities and backgrounds, read more about us at our upcoming blog (thank you Go Pro, for providing us with cameras so that we can document and record our journey!)

About Our Teacher Ms. Shah:
She is not only an award winning educator but she is someone who has taught us a great deal about the history of the United States and the world. We have had the opportunity to deepen our knowledge about the politics of power, study critical liberation theory and learn about transformative change through studying theories and learning how to shape policy.
Our teacher, Ms. Fakhra Shah, was on the front page of the San Francisco Chronicle for her lesson about 9/11. Check out videos and photos about our class here:
She also writes and blogs for the Southern Poverty Law Center's Project called, Teaching Tolerance, check out her blog, lesson, and information about her here:
Finally she has also been featured in numerous education publications along with San Francisco Magazine:
Please help us achieve our dreams of getting to Geneva, Switzerland!
