Terry McAlinden (Miss Mac) was an exceptionally bright, vivacious and much-loved member of our school community. After a fiercely fought battle with cancer, she sadly passed away on Thursday 12 November 2020.
Terry was a teacher at Birchwood for over 17 years and held a key role as a head of year for over 10 years. She was hugely respected by staff and students alike for her no-nonsense attitude, her huge kind heart and her brilliant sense of humour.
Her personality and attitude is woven into the very fabric of our school – she has contributed immeasurably to our ethos and our whole school culture through her determination to provide the very best for our students.
