Birdie’s Got The Diabetes
Donation protected
Birdie’s mom got her two years ago when she was 7 and was found on the street. She has been living her best life since, but a few weeks ago she was diagnosed with Type I Diabetes. As a diabetic herself, Birdie’s mom thankfully recognized the early signs of ketoacidosis and took her to the ER. The doctors were able to stabilize her in a couple of days, but the hospital stay was an unexpected $5,000 charge.
Birdie girl is her mom’s first canine companion and she was not prepared for the price of life-saving care or the monthly cost of insulin, needles, and low glycemic food. I am Birdie’s dog sitter and have seen how diligent her mom has been about her treatment and how emotionally draining the experience has been. I can’t ease her mind, but I wanted to try to ease the financial burden by asking for your donations.
