Miracle Needed to Save Pumpkin's Life

Donation protected
Pumpkin, a 3yr old female orange tabby cat, came to our family in 2019 as an orphaned 6 day old kitten. We bottle fed her every 2 hours until she was able to eat mush.

From the beginning, she has been the sweetest, gentle and most affectionate cat. Comforting our daughter when sick and snuggling us when we're sad.

The best office work companion and love bug!

On 12/21 Pumpkin digested yarn from an unknown source; this morning (12/22) she was vomiting and had about 6 inches of the yarn coming out of her bottom.

We took her immediately into Roadrunner Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Hospital.

After the exam, x-rays, and ultrasound, they determined she needs immediate surgery before the remaining yarn saws through her twisted small intestine.

If you know our family then you understand how much we love and care for animals.

We foster for many different organizations, neonatal bottle babies, transport rescue dogs and cats across the country, foster special needs animals, and when Hurricane Harvey hit we didn't think twice before putting a rescue team together to go help animals in distress.

Less than a week later she developed an abscess and she needed a second surgery to remove a small section of intestines.

Total cost for both surgeries with after care supplies, time off work and special food was over $9,950.

On day 14 post second surgery she was supposed to get her staples removed but at almost 3am she got ahold of loose gauze, which held her cone on and ate 8 inches of it.

She was admitted yesterday 1/15 with x-rays, showing the gauze in her intestines. They're giving her 12-18 hours before doing another set of images - the hope will be that the gauze is moving down her intestines and digestive tract - ultimately resulting in her expelling the gauze through a bowl movement.

If its stuck then she will need a 3rd surgery - same as the first.

Estimated costs are similiar - $5600 to start.

The only other option is euthanasia.

We need a miracle to save her life. You can't place a dollar amount value on the life of a companion animal.

We applied for Care Credit and Scratch Pay but unfortunately weren't qualified.

We are still catching up on bills after Becca not being employed for 3 months, Cami transitioning to a new job, and a few other unfortunate circumstances from the end of summer.

We will be selling personal belongings, baking decorated cookies, offering to clean houses and do whatever it takes to get the money to save her.

Please help by donating, sharing and ultimately being her miracle.
