Help Jamilah Return to College
Greetings!
My name is Jamilah Stith. I am a Washington D.C. native who is attending Southern University and A&M College. I am a sophomore, pursuing my Bachelor's degree in Secondary English Education, with aspirations to become a high school English teacher. I currently hold a 3.34 cumulative GPA.
I am the Creative Director of the dopest school magazine in the world, EGO. I also volunteer in several on-campus organizations. I have made a plethora of new friends who push me to be the best in whatever I'm doing. I love my program and my teachers. The only thing I love more than Southern is the opportunity to graduate from Southern. I can't do that without your help.
Here's where it gets difficult:
College is expensive, as we all know. I have successfully applied for DC-CAP & DC TAG but I need to pay off my balance for the 2016-2017 semester in order to complete my paperwork. These scholarship grants could be the difference between me returning back to school and me being sent home next semester.
In order to finish the paperwork, I need my financial aid award letter for the 2017-2018 semester, which does not become available to me until I pay off the remaining balance from the last school year. I owe $5,221. I am only asking my village to contribute towards $2,000 because I am also taking steps to contribute towards the balance myself.
As an education major, my education means the world to me. Please help me today, so I can help others tomorrow!
