- Hi my name is Mike Martin. My wife (Deb) of 30 yrs was recently diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig Disease). This is a terminal disease with no cure. It robs you of all your motor skills, She finally came home after a week in the hospital and 6 weeks in a rehab facility. She no longer can walk. She needs round the clock care. I have left my job to care for my wife. Which brings us here. We will no longer have my income for expenses The medical & equipment costs are crazy let alone our regular monthly bills. There are many things we still need. Most importantly right now is a wheelchair accessible van to transfer her to her ALS specialist (Dr. Taylor) in Brunswick.
Those of you who know me know I’m not the caregiver sorta man. But I’m learning. Most of my work has been in the woods as a logger & recently a FedEx Driver. But I want to be here and care for my wife for the short time we have left together. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I’m not the one to ask for help and I cannot do this without help ❤️
