Mike Steavpack's "Unintended Journey"

Perhaps you know him as ElvPack, spontaneously singing at your wedding reception or as the occasional guest lead singer of Big Mouth. Or maybe as a Fox Sports colleague or crewmember of “Officer Pack”, as he handed out the Galloping Gobbler on Thanksgiving Day. Or do you remember him DJ-ing at the Blarney Stone back in the day or even as the unofficial “Mayor” of Green Bay, or maybe as….well, the list goes on.

Whichever trail it took to cross paths with Mike Steavpack, a guarantee is that you left with a smile, a great story, and a lifetime memory. Who doesn’t forget Big Mike?

Forever selfless, forever friendly, forever “on”. Seemingly never knowing what a bad day is, he is always there for you, whether as a friend, a brother, a husband, a Father, a Grandfather, or Son. Mike was put on this earth to serve others and make your day brighter.

Now is our chance to recognize and thank Mike for his years of friendship, as he is fighting a battle that he never foresaw - the fight against cancer.

Mike has been diagnosed with oropharynx cancer which affects his back of mouth and neck. The prognosis is favorable but made so by the aggressive treatments.

Due to the location of his cancer, Mike will need significant oral surgery to construct full dental implants sometime this summer.

We have started this GoFundMe account to help ease the financial burden for Mike and his wife Cathy.

Mike should be spending his days planning

his summers in Egg Harbor, teaching elementary education in Green Bay or playing with his grandkids. Instead, over next days, weeks, and months ahead Mike will be undergoing a number of chemotherapy sessions and a month's worth of daily radiation treatments. Costly all and insurance only covers so much.

Because of his illness and treatment, he's presently unable to work, BUT he is striving to return for his 31st NFL on Fox season this fall.

Many friends have offered their support and asked what else they can do. Your contribution and prayers will enable Mike to focus on getting well and fighting cancer.
