Mike Gallagher is in Kidney Failure

Don protégé
Mike is in Stage 4 Kidney Failure and can really use our support.

Mike has always been an active participant in our community. He is known for helping others and going the extra mile for everyone. He is a former TV anchor with WJET and has had his share of heartbreak and medical troubles.  Read more about Mike here http://www.goerie.com/article/20120402/NEWS02/304029974).

Now Mike’s family has been hit hard in the last couple of years with medical troubles and mounting financial burden. Mike needs a kidney transplant, and is hoping for a new kidney within the next 12 months. His former wife passed from brain cancer last year.  His younger daughter was recently diagnosed with the same kidney condition that Mike has.

They are 3 months behind in rent, and their landlord has graciously allowed them to stay in their home. Mike spent the week of May 18 in the hospital, and his new medications cost $800/month AFTER insurance.  In spite of all this,  he continues to help others daily and would give the shirt off his back to someone in need.

Currently, his insurance will not cover his medications in full until he is in stage 5 renal failure. Currently, he lives in stage 4. One of his kidneys is dead and the other operates at 30%.

Friends, with all that this man has done for his community, and with all that he's facing, can we band together to help Mike in his time of need?

We invite you to join us in celebrating who he is, all he stands for and let him know he does matter <3
