Mike Booth Cancer Relief

Family, Friends & Good Samaritans: Mike Booth needs our help in his fight against oral cancer.

He was recently diagnosed with oral squamous cell carcinoma and received a partial glossectomy with a tissue graft from his forearm and thigh at IU Health Simon Cancer Center. He is recovering from surgery and is beginning the 30 rounds of radiation treatment which will be administered over the next several months.

Because of surgery and treatment, Mike is unable to work and the family is down to one income. This GoFundMe is designed to offer some relief in their time of need, with donations going toward the out-of-pocket insurance payments and to help supplement wages from lost work.

Mike is a McCutcheon High School graduate from Lafayette, Indiana. Known as DJ Bootsy and the co-founder of Downtown Records, he devoted countless hours to the downtown Lafayette music and cultural scene for more than 20 years. Mike currently lives in Indianapolis with his wife Izzy and 3-year-old son Oskar.

Bottom Line: Michael, Bootsy, Big Mike, Busias, Hüsker Büth – whatever you call him – this is a great father and great friend who has given a lot to make his community a better place. Now it’s time for the community to dig deep and show up for him!
