It is with the heaviest of hearts that I must share the unimaginable loss of my son, Minas Ter-Astvatsatrian also known as Mike, who passed away suddenly and at the young age of 32 years old.
Mike was not only my son, but he was a father, a brother, and a friend who meant so much to so many. My heart feels like it’s been shattered, and I can barely find the strength to go on without him. I am deeply hurt and words cannot describe the way I feel. He was my sole provider and helped me tremendously.
As I type this I cannot help but cry because I do not know what to do moving forward as I lost not only my son but also my best friend who took care of me in so many ways.
Mike leaves behind my grandchild, Mathew, who he loved with all of his heart, and all of us—his family and friends—who are simply lost without him. His older brother, Arthur, and a younger sister, Alisa, both of whom are struggling to cope with the pain of losing him. We all feel like there’s a hole in our lives that can never be filled. Mike was so much to all of us—his laughter, his kindness, his strength. It’s hard to accept that he’s truly gone.
Mike was a hardworking man, a proud member of Local 731 which is an excavators union that involved very strenuous work. His coworkers and friends always admired his dedication and work ethics, but what they loved even more was his gentle spirit.
Mike would give anyone the shirt off his back if they needed it, and that generosity will be remembered forever. His coworkers are devastated and have been reaching out to check on my family's well-being.
It is impossible to put into words just how much he is missed. The pain of losing him is something I wouldn’t wish on anyone. And now, on top of this unbearable grief, we’re facing the overwhelming responsibility of laying him to rest properly.
The expenses are more than I can manage, and I am asking for help, as difficult as it is for me to do so.
If you can find it in your heart to make a donation, no matter how small, it will mean the world to us and my dear grandson.
Mike’s memory will live on through Mathew, and through all of us who loved him. He was such a loving person who loved his family and friends and provided for me unselfishly without expecting anything in return.
We will carry him in our hearts forever, and with your support, we can give him the goodbye he deserves.
If you cannot donate, I completely understand. Please, if you can, share this with your loved ones. Every prayer, every word of kindness, and every share of this page helps more than I can express.
We are so grateful for anything you can do.
Thank you so much for your love, compassion, and kindness during this heartbreaking time. We are forever grateful.
With all the love I have,
Azatui Ter-Astvatsatrian
