Emi & Mari, originally from Romania, now live in Northern California where Emi serves as the pastor of Calvary Presbyterian Church in Stockton (https://www.cpcstockton.org/).  Together they have been blessed with three beautiful children - Eliam, Naomi and Ruth.  Tragically, their firstborn son, Eliam, went home to be with the Lord at the age of 18 months due to heart issues.  Now, nine years later, they have suffered the loss of their youngest daughter, Ruth, at the age of three.

In early February, just a few weeks ago, Ruth was suddenly diagnosed with Acute Chronic Cardio Myopathy.  Her medical team did all they could to save her and she fought for about a week.  However, on 17 February 2018, she entered the presence of Jesus Christ.

In Emi’s words “We are sad yet thankful for knowing Jesus Christ and being part of The Father’s Family. Ruth’s journey on this planet came to an end this morning and is in His hands now.  We have sensed his Spirit, peace, grace and your prayers. We are deeply thankful to all of you.  All praise honor and glory to Our Father and Lord Jesus Christ”

As Emi & Mari grieve the sudden loss of their beloved daughter, there are multiple financial implications that the Mihet family must face, moving forward.  These include:

1. Medical Bills: Medical insurance will cover only a portion of two Medevac helicopter flights to various hospitals and 8 days in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (pediatric ICU).
2. Funeral & Memorial Service Costs.
3. An allowance to help cover unpaid time off, so they can adequately grieve, be ministered to, and heal spiritually, emotionally, and mentally.

I personally cannot imagine the pain they must be in, having lost two out of three children at such young ages.  Yet, as we see in Emi's words, they continue to praise our Lord in the midst of their suffering and loss.  Emi and Mari have proved themselves faithful, generous, and servant-hearted people.  Many of us can attest to how the Lord has used the Mihet family to be a blessing to so many people.

Our prayer is that collectively, as family & friends, we will be able to come alongside them to help bear the financial weight of this tragedy (Romans 12:9-13).
