*EDIT* As most of you know our mom passed 06/08/24 after her almost 10 year battle with breast cancer. Our mom’s greatest wish was for all of her children to be together in California and that is exactly what we must do. In the next few weeks we will be packing our little brother’s life along with our mom’s sentimental belongings and driving from coast to coast. This is not going to be easy as we drive away from a life my mom built over the last 17 years, as well for our brother who has lived in New York since he was 6, but this is what our mom wanted. mom was very adventurous and loved to travel. It was part of her wishes to be with each of her children and go where they go. On our drive to California, we would like to make stops along the way at places our mom had never been and share this experience with her. Now that we have put mom to rest we would like to focus on moving her and our little brother back home without the financial stress. We deeply appreciate everyone who has helped us and been by our side throughout this. everything helps us tremendously.

On October 6th, 2021 our mom went to the Emergency Room during vacation in Ventura, CA for what she thought was strep throat or the flu. After an 8 hour hospital visit our mom found out that her cancer had returned (she was diagnosed in 2015 with advanced stage 3 Breast Cancer).

Unfortunately, this time it is stage 4 metastatic breast cancer meaning it has spread from its original area ‘ her breasts ‘ and is now in her brain, liver, spine, lungs, neck and hip/ pelvic area. On October 8th 2021, we left our lives behind and got on the next flight to take mom home to NYC in order to get her to her oncologist and doctors right away. The doctors told us there were tiny microscopic pieces that held on and spread to those areas of her body. Everyday we receive more and more information and although this has been very hard to process and at times we still don’t understand why it’s happening or why so fast, we are still trying our best to stay strong, optimistic and hopeful. We want to thank the people closest to us that have called, texted, sent love, prayers, flowers & baskets and have constantly been by our side each day. You are all amazing and greatly appreciated. It’s amazing all of the support we all feel like we have during this time. Although we can’t take the pain away and make it all disappear as we all wish we could we have made this GoGundMe to help take some financial relief away to pay the overflowing medical bills and day to day bills as we all up and left our lives back home to be by her side.
