Thank you for taking the time to read my post.
My friend, Michelle Kamalani, is one heck of an amazing woman! She is my best friend, my sister, and my rock. I love her.
This is Michelle's story:
In Sept. 2008 I was woken up at 3am with terrible pain in my lower back I thought I had a kidney infection. The next day it happened again. The pain continued through the day I decided to go to urgent care to get checked out. The PA that treated me told sent me to go to Dominican hospital to get a CT scan.
It was there that they discovered a tumor in my kidney. They sent me to my urologist and he told me I had a tumor in my kidney and had to have it removed.
After that, I was being scanned from my head down to my toes to make sure it didn't come back.
In June 2013 I started experiencing sinus infection symptoms. I went to urgent care again. They gave me some antibiotics to get rid of it. After 3 weeks and 3 different antibiotics I was still having symptoms. I had plans of going on vacation to camp at two different lakes with my friends when suddenly, the night before I was supposed to leave, I was in a lot of pain and had to drive myself to Dominican emergency room because I couldn't bear the pain in my head.
They decided run some more tests and put me through the scanning machine again. What they found was a tumor in the center of my head that was 4x4 cm. The neurologist explained to me the tumor was a metastasis from the kidney cancer and had to operate in the morning to remove the tumor. Without getting time to research anything and scared to death, I had the operation. During surgery they lost me 3 times. I was revived all 3 times. I was in ICU for 2 weeks and a total of a month in the hospital. I lost my boyfriend, my job, my car and now my home. I am so lucky to be alive and able to write my story.
Sincerely grateful to be alive!
