Michelle, temporarily disabled mother of 4
Donation protected
Hi, my name is David and my father Hank is raising money for Michelle, a 42-year-old single mother of 4 children. Until 4 weeks ago Michelle was the manager of a Waffle House. Her unit performed as the number one unit in her region consistently for the last 2years.
Approximately 4 weeks ago, Michelle was seriously injured protecting her two-year-old grandbaby from its mother, who threw him up against a wall. In the process of protecting her grandbaby, Michelle was thrown against a coffee table breaking her leg badly in three places. Her Doctor has told her she cannot put any weight on the leg for three months.
The problems we are trying to address with this fund are:
1) The Waffle House provided only 2 weeks of pay to Michelle and so far Michelle has not been able to collect unemployment.
2) Other sources such as Dare to Care and the local food bank taken together have provided less than two weeks of food.
3) The local social services have provided $ 84.00 in Food Stamps per month.
4) MIchelle will have accumulated approximately $ 15,000.00 in additional debt before she is able to go back to work. This debt is delayed rent on her home, car payments that have been postponed, insurance on her home and car that have been postponed, credit card debt whose limits have been reached (they were used to buy food before any of these other sources kicked in ), and a number of other incidental expenses that come up on a daily bases.
Donations will go to pay for these expenses until Michelle is in a position to return to her job at Waffle House.
