Hi Everyone,
I am honored and proud to announce that I have been selected as the winner of the 2015 Congressional Art Competition for California's 3rd Congressional District by my Congressman the Honorable John Garamendi.
My mixed media painting of Aidan was submitted by my Art teacher at Sutter High School Mr. Tranberg. I never imagined I would win with students from 8 other counties competing. I received a letter from Congressman Garamendi telling me I had been selected as one of the finalists. Then I received a voice-mail from Jennifer Lee at Congressman Garamendi's office asking me to call her and that she had some good news....
I called Jennifer back and could not believe my ears, I WON and in addition to winning I was also getting two plane tickets to D.C. The winners from each Congressional Districts are invited to attend the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at the U.S. Capitol. Each of the winning works from around the Nation are displayed for one year in the Cannon Tunnel. The Cannon Tunnel is the main underground access that leads into the U.S. Capitol.
After hearing I had won the decision on who I would take was easy, Mr. Tranberg. I would not have even been in this competition if not for Mr. T. He has helped and inspired me so much. I would very much like to be able to have Mr. T. accompany me on this trip of a lifetime. I hope you can help make this trip one to remember and I am humbly asking for your support.

P.S. Any remaining funds will help to purchase my never ending need for Artist supplies. As I paint more I am finding I need better and different tools. Rest assured all of your kind donations will be spent wisely.
