Autism Service Dog for Michael

Donation protected
Meet my wonderful son Michael.  He is 21, diagnosed with Autism, PTSD, Conversion Disorder, along with other diagnosis through his development in to adulthood.  He was adopted at the age of 6 from the foster care system.  Without going in too much detail, he came from a very traumatic background, filled with abuse and neglect.

Life has never really been easy for him.  Every day he has been tackling obstacles that life has thrown at him.  His emotional and physical trauma that continue to haunt him and dealing with how different he feels from others, wanting so much to be like and even accepted by other kids.

Today, even though he continues with struggles, he has come so far. I am so proud of him for never giving up.  However, he still feels alone, stress really distorts his mind, the dark haunts him and I see him look over his shoulder for something that is not there.  He has been in every type of therapy and treatment.  The one thing they could not do for him was to ensure he was safe, not alone and when he was feeling stressed, they were not there to tell him everything would be ok

Speaking with the Doctors, Therapists believed that Michael would greatly benefit having a Service Dog trained to meet his overwhelming needs.

We did our research and came across Ry-Con Service Dogs.  They specialize in training dogs for children and adults with neurological disorders, such as autism and PTSD and are a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization.  Sounded perfect and it was!

We met Mark Mathis, President of Ry-Con Service dogs, some of his trainers, dogs that were trained and waiting to go to their person, puppies in training and a new litter that is waiting to start their very important adventure.  One of those male puppies, will be named “Blue” (official color for National Autism Awareness) chosen by my son, the puppy will be chosen by Mark, to ensure the right dog matches the needs of my son and his trainers will put their heart and soul in to providing the best service these dogs could ever offer.

Now I ask of everyone who reads this, to please help us reach our goal.  By March 23rd, we owe a balance of $3200, when the training will commence for ‘Blue”.  Within 4 months, the total balance of $13,500 will be required.  They are a non-profit, so they rely heavily on donations. When we reach our goal, all excess monies will go towards the fees required by “Go Fund Me” and the remaining will be given to Ry-Con Service Dogs, to continue to help these wonderful dogs train for their calling.  Please help me spread the word and thank you ahead of time for giving us the time to read this and if possible, your heartfelt donation.  This will be the beginning of something positive in my son’s life.

Please feel free, in fact I encourage to visit their website, Facebook and several You Tube Videos:
