Melissa Livingston and her five children—Kai, Ryah, Allie, Sophie, and Lochlann—are facing an unimaginable loss after the passing of Michael Livingston, from a short battle of colorectal cancer, their devoted husband and father. Michael was the sole provider for the family, ensuring that Melissa and their children’s many medical needs were always met. Now, with his passing, Melissa is left to care for her children alone, all while navigating the overwhelming challenges of their ongoing health conditions. As such, in honor of Michael Livingston and in lieu of flowers, we are asking to contribute to the support of the Livingston family.
The Livingston family’s journey has never been easy. Ryah, living with severe Type 1 Diabetes, relies on an insulin pump for daily survival.
Allie, just 17, is a complex care patient at the Mayo Clinic. She battles six different autoimmune diseases and Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), requiring life-saving infusions every two weeks.
Sophie, age 12, has 22q11.2 deletion syndrome. She needs weekly infusions and sees numerous specialists in nephrology, endocrine, immunology, cardiology, neurology, gastrointestinal, along with many others.
Lochlann, the youngest at 6, manages celiac disease and eosinophilic esophagitis.
Melissa Livingston is also not without her own medical issues as well. She has a heart condition, eosinophilic esophagitis, ibd, degenerative disks, and other medical aliments. My sister Melissa Livingston did not work as she has been the caregiver for her family and their many, many medical issues within the family.
With Michael passed, the family is now facing urgent cremation expenses and the looming loss of their health insurance. Insurance coverage will soon run out, and Melissa will need to pay for COBRA or find a new policy, all without a steady income. The costs of ongoing treatments, medications, and daily living are overwhelming. Insurance currently covers almost 50,000 a month in just prescriptions and medical supplies for the family.
We are asking for your urgent and heartfelt support. Any donation, no matter the size, will make a difference for Melissa and her children as they face this overwhelming time. Please consider helping or sharing this fundraiser to give them hope and stability.
