As you may know, I have been playing rugby for 5 years and it is going to be welcomed back to the Olympics at the 2016 Rio Games. I currently play for Penn State and Boston RFC (Rugby Football Club) and hope to one day represent my country by playing for the U.S. National Team. During my Rugby career, I have served as captain at Bishop Hendricken High School RFC, participated in the MYRO (Massachusetts Youth Rugby Organization) select side, and was voted Captain of my college team at Penn State Berks.
Recently, I was invited to attend the Serevi Rugby Residency Program this summer 2014. The Serevi Residency Program is a weeklong training camp held in Glendale, Colorado. The USA Rugby Academy, powered by Serevi, is a multi-faceted programming platform designed to identify and develop performance-critical areas in athletes. Serevi training camps and programs like the Residency Program identify and develop these areas and showcase players to USA Rugby all-American and National Team coaches.
Being a part of this program is a great opportunity for me to grow as a player, showcase my rugby skills and be exposed to a National Team training environment. As mentioned earlier, the camp is in Glendale, Colorado and I am raising money to cover the fee to attend the camp and the travel expenses. Payment for the camp is due June 1st, 2014. Any and all donations received will help bring me one step closer to achieving a lifelong goal.
