Raise Money for MiKare Packages

Hi everyone!

To start things off, I am 18 and I start college in a few weeks to become a Pediatric Oncology Nurse!

I started volunteering at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and Ronald McDonald House of Memphis in October 2013. I was only planning on volunteering there once, but it turned into something so much more. I ended up loving it so much so I decided I wanted to do it again and again. And that, turned into something even more. I decided that I actually wanted to go visit kids on a personal level, and help make their days brighter, so I decided to make care packages. We started this in 2014, however we just recently came up with a name (MiKare Packages) and developed a Facebook page!

Since we first started, my mom and I have been doing this out of our pockets..no donations or anything. After we started to do it more and more, it started to get a lot more expensive. For just one care package, it could cost anywhere from $15-$25. And we usually see about 1-3 patients a month, as my mom has treatment once a month for SLE Lupus. 

I make care packages, unique to each recipient, and I hand deliver them to each patient when I am in Memphis once, sometimes twice or more, a month.

I am making my GoFundMe goal $500. It might seem a bit far fetched, but with $500 I can make between 20-32 care packages. And that means there'd be 20-32 kids who's day has been made better..they might have even forgotten about the chemo, sickness, and everything else, even if it was just for the moment.
