Studying Music in Greece

Hello!
My name is Merissa Magdael-Lauron, and I have the amazing opportunity to be a part of the Berklee International Composers Institute and go study abroad in Greece this summer! I will be spending the whole month of June in Athens studying music composition, getting private lessons to perfect an original piece of music for a String Quartet to be performed and recorded in Greece. ...BUT in order for this amazing experience to happen, I am asking for your help.

I currently attend Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA and am majoring in Film Scoring. I found that Film Scoring is the best outlet for me to express my musical creativity. I love film, and a film is nothing without the music. The music is what makes the audience feel, and I want to be part of that experience making people feel the emotions they see. My principal instrument is trombone, but my passion is composition. I am studying and working hard to be the change I wish to see in the world through my music. The world has yet to hear what I have to say, and going to Greece to study composition will be an important milestone to increase my musical vocabulary so I can communicate to the world through my music.
