In loving memory of Daniel Weymouth

Hello, I'm Michelle. I've organized this fundraiser for my dad, a remarkable man who touched many lives. He was not just a loving father, husband and grandfather, but also a cherished friend known for his magnetic personality and zest for life.

His love story with my mom, Sachiko, began in Japan where he served as a navy sailor, and they eventually settled in Fresno, California, his hometown. They built a beautiful life together, filled with cherished memories and adventures.

My dad was a dedicated neighborhood chiropractor, passionate about natural pain relief and helping others. Instead of material possessions, my parents prioritized experiences, often going on day trips and weekend getaways and with my mom working at United Airlines we were fortunate to see the world.

The past five years have been incredibly challenging. The COVID-19 pandemic nearly ended his practice, forcing us to downsize and adapt. Despite setbacks, we relocated our office with hopes of a fresh start, only to lose everything to a devastating electrical fire last year. This setback almost led him into retirement, but he continued to see clients a few times a week from a subletted room in Hayward.

Amidst these trials, he was diagnosed with Stage 4 Cancer three years ago. Despite the uphill battle, he never lost his optimistic outlook, undergoing 2 rounds with 12 treatments of chemotherapy with some promising results.

However, last Thursday, he experienced severe stomach pains, leading to emergency surgery at San Leandro Hospital. Despite the efforts of medical staff, his weakened state from chemotherapy and surgery led to his passing on Sunday, March 10th, at 11:32 pm.

He was deeply loved by all who knew him and will be sorely missed. He was truly one of a kind, and I am grateful to have called him my dad and best friend.

I've initiated this fundraiser because his sudden passing caught us unprepared for he’s funeral and especially financially, given the challenges since the pandemic. If you're able to contribute, we would be immensely grateful. If not, please help us share his story and keep his memory alive. Thank you for taking the time to read his story.

with all our love,
