My only nephew, MJ Issa, was taken from us sometime in the morning hours of August 28.

We are heartbroken — eighteen years is not a long time to spend on this earth. But, during his time here, MJ touched many lives. We laughed at his wit, were warmed by his kindness, and were amazed by his creativity.

He excelled at football, marathon shoe-shopping sessions, and hilarious imitations. When he was on a roll, no one could get a word in edgewise.

MJ, you’ve left us all behind, but our lives are better for having had you in them. We hope you are at peace now.

I set this up for anyone who wants to help contribute towards funeral and memorial expenses.

CELEBRATION OF LIFE: A Celebration of MJ's Life will be held at 5:00 pm on September 25th at his home at 3300 Westridge Ct., Lawrence, KS. Friends are welcome. If you plan to attend, please RSVP to [email redacted]. Bring your memories to share!
