Mel's Breast Cancer Battle

Friends and family!! One of the dearest women in our worlds, Melanie, has had a rough 12 months to say the least and even though she's the strongest woman we know, her next battle is a big one.

Melanie has always been an active healthy woman, with no family history of cancer. 2020 has already seen her fight cervical cancer and undergo a hysterectomy at only 37 year old. Just before Christmas she discovered  a lump in her breast and has been told it was much worse than we'd all hoped...she is the one in 8...hearing the terrifying words from their doctors mouth - "Invasive Ductal Carcinoma" was devastating, having developed breast cancer, she must go through a double mastectomy this month!

Melanie has had the wonderful Klae by her side for over 13 years, and together they have brought 3 beautiful young children in to the world. It's clear to anyone who knows Melanie that she puts her babies & family first. Whilst raising 3 children under 7 she's walked the path with Luca (7) through discovering her hearing loss and diagnosis of ADHD, she's starting the journey with Toby (5) and his OT's and paediatrician needs also whilst being an active fun loving mum to little Josie (3).

However, whilst still recovering from her recent Hysterectomy, she has this new battle to face. Melanie is facing this with a positive mind, but the anxiety and the cost to her family can't be ignored. The out of pocket and unexpected expenses, the support resources to help during this difficult transition are expensive. Klae works hard, and often works away for days at a time, but the thing Melanie needs most is Klae... However, after supporting Melanie through her hysterectomy, Klae's has no leave left to support his wife and family during this treatment and Melanie's recovery.  This beautiful woman has had a hard enough journey already and we need to help this family through this time, help keep her best friend, husband and father to their babies home to support her recovery, see to their three young children's significant needs, and see Melanie come through this journey a winner.

Melanie and her family are now focussing on what's important, time together and trying not to dwell on the mounting medical bills. We ask for donations to support our friend, no matter how small, every bit helps...
