Melody’s Memorial
Donation protected
Dear beloved family and friends,
For those of you who aren’t aware, my name is Kiara. I am the oldest child and daughter of Melody and Janet. I am kindly asking for everyone’s help and support during this difficult time for everyone, especially for Janet and Syndyl.
As many of you guys know by now, the morning of December 8th, 2020, Melody Nicole Walker lost her 20 day long battle to COVID-19.
Just 1 month shy of her 45th birthday, by the grace of god, she has come home to her eternal peace. Because of her COPD and other health conditions, she became became a victim to this disease. This disease does not discriminate and will take down even the strongest of women.
Three months prior, Janet moved out to Florida to provide a new life for Melody and Syndyl. She flew out and stayed with a long time friend, Erin and her family. Quickly, she started working 3 jobs (ended up only working 2) to save up money to move Melody and Syndyl out to Florida for a fresh start. Back in California, Melody worked her magic, like she always does, and found a moving company and apartment for them to move into once they had the money saved up. When that the time came, Melody and Syndyl drove out to Florida to reunite with Janet. Shortly after arriving, Melody became ill.
As a mother, a wife, a daughter, an aunt, a friend, and everything in between, she had an endless love for everyone and everything. She was a very strong, confident, beautiful woman who loved hard. One of the most important things a mother can do is pass on her best traits. I can only hope that the love, compassion and support she has shown us over the years remains with us as we mourn her passing and celebrate her life.
Since Melody started to get worse, Janet has not been able to go to work. She has been trying to keep everything together and stay strong for not only Melody, but also for Syndyl. Syndyl and Melody were very close, so this has taken a huge toll on both of them.
We are devastated over the loss of Melody. I’ll be honest, my mom Janet is struggling and she needs help. Since she hasn’t been working lately, I know she is stressed and worried about how she will make ends meet. She needs some help getting back on her feet and Syndyl needs to get back on her schedule, as both of those things are very important.
I know my mom is worried about how she will afford Melody’s cremation, paying for January’s rent and bills, pay off debt that occurred prior/during to the move out to Florida, and she still needs to transfer the car and car insurance for Florida. We are kindly asking for any donations to help with the cost of this growing debt so they may get back on track.
My mom also would like to be able to afford 2 round trip tickets to California. That way Syndyl gets an opportunity to come back home to see family and friends and where we may all Celebrate Melody. Depending on how much donations are receive, we are hoping to celebrate the weekend of Melody’s birthday, January 10th, 2021.
Melody will be forever loved and forever miss, but she will NEVER be forget.
Please consider donating if you are able to do so. I know Janet and Syndyl will be forever grateful for every donation that is received during this difficult time for everyone.
And lastly, F*** COVID!!
Thank you kindly,
Kiara
**EDIT** Thank you so much for all the lovely donations. I know my mom and Syndyl are very grateful and appreciate all the help they are receiving. A few people have asked if they can help out or donate outside of GoFundMe. Anything is greatly appreciated. If you would like to donate through PayPal, Zelle, gift cards, check, etc, please contact Janet through Facebook messenger or text/call her if you have her phone number. If you don’t know Janet and/or Syndyl personally and would like to donate or help through Cash App or any other way, you may contact me through Facebook messenger or text and we will go from there.
Thank you again.
