My name is Delainey Casey. For those of you that do not know me I am a birth doula. I provide non-medical assistance such as physical, emotional, and educational support to parents-to-be before, during, and after childbirth. I am setting up this Go Fund Me account for a client of mine, Melody Moore. Melody, nine months pregnant with her first child, unexpectedly lost her husband on Monday, September 26, 2016. By all accounts Jordan was very healthy. Doctors believed it was a heart attack. A heart attack that occurred while they slept. When Melody woke that Monday morning and found Jordan unresponsive she immediately called 911 and performed CPR on him until paramedics arrived. Sadly, Jordan was never revived. He died in Melody's arms.

Melody describes Jordan as her best friend. It was obvious watching the two of them interact that the feeling was mutual. These two newlyweds were over the moon excited about the quickly approaching due date of their first child.  Many of the preparations were complete. Some were left, thinking there would be more time to get to them, such as an updated life insurance policy. With out one in place Melody is faced with the immense financial burden of raising a child on one income and maintaining their current living situation. 

Melody gave birth to McLain Jordan on November 2, 2016. She is experiencing all of the usual new mother issues, such as sleep deprivation,  and the roller coaster of hormones; however, she is also still deeply grieving the loss of her husband and with the birth of their handsome baby the grief has intensified. Melody is in desperate need of help with the baby. She does not have any of her own family locally. Some are here to help for a short time but will need to return home. Several local postpartum doula's have lovingly volunteered shifts. In the blink of an eye this help will be gone and Melody will be completely on her own and still in the depths of her grieving process. My goal and wish is to raise enough money to cover at least two weeks of help provided by a baby nurse to assist Melody after her family has returned home and the volunteers are no longer available.
