Our cousin, Melissa Britto Alves has recently been told that your life has suddenly changed. Melissa has a heart of gold and always willing to help others. It is our time show Melissa how much we love and support her in this tough time. The mother of 4 children (9yrs, 11yrs, 15yrs,17yrs) and a loving wife, Melissa's smile and great laugh fills a room.
Our hearts dropped with the news, that Melissa was recently rushed to the hospital in Florida for massive pain. She was told, she would need to have surgery to remove a large tumor near her kidney. After 6 hours of surgery leaving a massive scar, she later learned that it was Adrenal gland Cancer, a very rare form that only affects 1 in a 1 million people. She now faces chemotherapy and countless doctor's appointments. Despite this, Melissa’s continued strength for her and her family, completely amazes all.
Melissa and her family moved to Florida from Rhode Island in May, and in this unfortunate time of Melissa's life, close family and friends, Ana Simoes, Rui & Rita Alves, Roger & Melissa Amaral are reaching out for your help to support Melissa and her family who are now facing unexpectedly high medical costs and expenses.
