A few years ago, many of you showed incredible kindness and support when my mom was diagnosed with cancer and went through a mastectomy. We’re so appreciative of the support—it meant a lot to both of us.
Meg is one of the most warm, loving, and caring people I know. I know I'm biased, but I bet a number of people would say the same thing! She works as a tutor for young children, helping them learn to read and write. If you’ve ever seen her interact with children, you know how wonderful she is with them.
For quite a while now, she’s been living with severe and often debilitating back pain that has made everyday life increasingly difficult. She’s tried a number of less invasive treatment options over time, but at this point surgery is the best option. She’ll be undergoing a laminectomy across multiple vertebrae to relieve pressure on her spine. We hope this will give her significant relief and a better quality of life.
Her recovery will require at least 6 weeks away from work. As a self-employed tutor, that means no income during her recovery, on top of the medical expenses.
I’ll be staying with her for the first few weeks after surgery, and after that, some wonderful friends will be coming to help support her as she continues healing. Even with that support, this will be a financially difficult time.
We hesitated to ask for help again, knowing how many of you already gave before. But we’re at a point where extra support would genuinely make a meaningful difference, whether it’s donating, sharing, or simply sending encouragement.
If you’re able to contribute, we’re deeply grateful. And if not, please know your support in any form truly means so much.
