Megan's Battle with Stage 3 Breast Cancer

Hello!

I am creating this on behalf of Megan Zitek and her fight against Stage 3 Breast Cancer.

My name is Cassie Chonis and I’m a coworker of Megan’s. Megan is a wonderful mom, friend, and teacher in Bellevue. In February of 2024, Megan found a lump and after a lot of advocating for herself, she was diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast Cancer in May. She quickly began her roller coaster of chemotherapy and afterwards went in for a mastectomy. She came out of surgery with the unfortunate news that her cancer had become metastatic. It had spread to a nearby lymph node. As she was prepared to celebrate and transition to her regular routine, she now has to prepare for a new set of treatment: radiation followed by an additional 6 months of chemotherapy to stop the reoccurrence of any cancer. Throughout this entire process Megan has remained immensely positive. With all of this, the bills have continued to rise and she is unable to work consistently. This additional news has been a lot to grasp and she is in need of her army of people.
