Lifesaving urgent medical fees

Hi my name is Maria. I’ve known Zaka since he was 15. He was born in Dundee. We met in a small seaside town in Dorset. He is a gentle sensitive soul.

His recent holiday has turned into a nightmare. He is currently in a Thai jail in Bangkok where the conditions are torturous, barbaric & medieval. Caged “quarantine” on arrival, shackled, sleep deprivation designed to “break you” with lights on all night, rotten food that’s unfit to eat and men packed into overcrowded cells likes sardines. It is normal men get chronically ill and die in these cells.

He bravely, but in hindsight foolishly, got involved in a brawl trying to break up a fight to protect another man from being badly hurt by his attackers ( who threatened to stab him ) and has consequently been pulled into a messy legal situation, not of his making. He is being wrongfully accused and suffering under these inhumane conditions.

He was “forced” to overstay his visa when the police confiscated his passport for being involved. They didn’t communicate with immigration and lied to him about taking care of it; so he also has an immigration breach against him, which the local police immediately tried to take advantage of by demanding money to fill their own pockets.

There is no legal aid help available for him in Thailand and his lawyers are already sending him estimated bills of 6k. He is up against a corrupt money grabbing law system, with little regard for basic human rights. Funds are urgently needed for bail, which he is appealing for and lawyer fees.

Zaka has mental health vulnerabilities & diagnoses due to a traumatic, abusive childhood and will not do well with this kind of stress, sleep deprivation and further physical and mental abuse. All he has of family support is an elderly father with his own chronic health & financial issues.

Im appealing for urgent help. Donations, sharing this cause and your positive compassionate energy and light will all go a long way to getting him out of this hell hole and back home to safety and sanity.

Funds will be used to pay for bail, if it is accepted and solicitor and repatriation fees. I am in communication with Global Consular Services, and have all communications filed should anyone want to see them for legitimacy purposes.
