First, I'd like to thank everyone who has already donated to help my grandson. It has been a blessing to have so many people care about him, his health, and his family.

The original date of his surgery had to be cancelled and rescheduled because of the cost. The new surgery date is December 16, 2025. Please continue to pray for Draco and his family.

At this time, we are not asking for donations. His parents were finally able to find insurance for Draco and his three younger siblings that they can afford. I am only keeping this GoFundMe active until after his surgery. I will then update you all on the outcome of his surgery. (I am no longer on Facebook so my daughter will share my updates to her Facebook page.)

***PREVIOUS UPDATE September 2025***

Draco's surgery has been scheduled for October 21, 2025. The self-pay cost is $147,000 and the hospital is asking for payment up front. Obviously, Vincent and Kaley don't have that kind of money on hand so we've had to up the GoFundMe to reflect that. Because of this, they might have to reschedule. They're looking into finding an insurance for him that will cover this surgery.

As I stated in a previous update, his pulmonologist will be looking at his left lung as there is still a spot showing up in x-rays that cannot be explained. His cardiologist will be performing a catheterization to find the hole in his heart that caused the strokes. While they're in there, they will be repairing the hole and any other issue they find.

Please continue to share this GoFundMe. This surgery is important for Draco so that he doesn't have anymore strokes and to make sure his lung is healing properly.

Please bear with me as there is quite a bit of information to share here.

My 7 year old grandson, Draco, was in the hospital from November 26, 2024 to December 11, 2024. He was very ill and after a multitude of testing, including x-rays, CT's, ultrasounds, and an MRI. He was diagnosed with mycoplasma pneumonia and also had rhabdomyolysis. While in the hospital, he had 4 or 5 strokes and a grand mal seizure.

During this hospitalization, it was discovered that he has a heart defect called Bicuspid Aortic Valve. This means he has to see a cardiologist at least once a year. They need to put a catheter into his artery and up into his heart to look for "passageways" that aren't supposed to be there and could have caused the strokes. If they find any they will plug them while they are in there. Bicuspid Aortic Valve, BAV, is a genetic condition and they advise that everyone in the family get tested, including his siblings who are 4, 2, and 5 months old. This will be very expensive. We're looking at roughly $15,000 at minimum.

He also needs some genetic testing done to rule out some disorders that could have caused him to be so ill.

Draco has recovered very well and we praise God for that but we still have a long road ahead. His insurance denied a lot of stuff last year and then dropped him at the beginning of this year. They are looking into getting a different insurance but they're struggling to find something affordable. Until then, he still has testing, followups, and procedures. This is why this GoFundMe is still open.

The first $4300 we raised has helped cover some of these costs already and we are greatly appreciative of everyone who donated.

Please consider donating, if you haven't already, and share this with the world so we can continue to get him the treatment he needs, and treatments his siblings may need, until their parents can get insurance that suits their needs.

If 3,500 people donated just $10 each, we would reach this goal.
