On June 29th, 2025, my sweet girl Eve (Eevee) was diagnosed with congestive heart failure.

She had fluid around her heart and lungs and was coughing badly. The vet gave her oxygen therapy and a diuretic, and thankfully, she responded really well. They said we caught it early, and she can now come home with medication to manage her condition long-term.

Why I need help: I'm disabled and unable to work due to mental illness and a debilitating autoimmune disease. I've tried applying for disability but they're giving me a hard time, as they do with most people. This means I'm unable to afford her expensive vet bills and her meds at this time. I have some supportive family, but they have their own issues as well, so I'm trying to get some extra support to help my girl survive this.

Eevee means everything to me. I honestly can’t imagine life without her by my side. I know dogs don’t live forever, but I didn't expect her to ever face heart failure. My heart is absolutely broken. She’s been my light through some of my darkest moments, when I thought I couldn’t go on, her sweet face gave me a reason to keep fighting. We’ve saved each other. She’s my best friend, and I’m not ready to lose her.

Along with this devastating diagnosis, the vet bills and medication costs are piling up fast. The urgent care visit alone was nearly $2,000 (receipt pictured). Eevee will need medication for the rest of her life, costing about $130 each month for Vetmedin, Furosemide, and Simparica.
