CHUKWUEBUKA UZOCHUKWU NWANNA was born in 8th April, 1998 to the family of Mr. and Mrs. Ekwunife Nwanna of Umueze village, Amawbia, Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State, Nigeria. He is the second child and first son. Chukwuebuka attended Kings Nursery and Primary School, Amawbia as well as Comprehensive Secondary School Nawfia, where he came out in flying colors. After the secondary education he took the Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) (a body trusted to offer admission into the Universities).

While he was waiting for the result of the above board, he took time to teach himself how to play piano and church organ. With his resiliency he succeeded in learning how to play the church organ. Music has always been his passion as he enjoys singing and playing guitar whenever the need arises at home or anywhere else. Ebuka (as his family love to call him for short) fell in love with playing of piano and organ. He became popular in playing of piano and organ in many different local churches.

By age 15, he was invited to play organ in a nearby church on 7th of May, 2016. On his way, he had an accident that open his stomach and one of his leg almost pulled off including the waist. Because of this he was admitted in Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu Teaching Hospital, Awka, Anambra State where he stayed for Nine (9) months. He underwent eight major and minor operations to ensure his recovery.

Ebuka has always been a very giving and loving boy. This ugly experience never seemed to weigh him down in connecting and sharing with everybody around him with music. While on the sick bed he gained admission into Nnamdi Azikiwe University to read Geology. The Admission was differed to the following year to ensure his readiness due to the accident.

Unfortunately, Chukwuebuka could not continue his academic activities due to constant severe pain in his waist and legs with intermittent bowel obstructions. His last surgery was on 25th March, 2020. Currently, he is massively depressed and frustrated with everything.

According to his doctor’s report, Ebuka has some residual medical issues like abnormal sensation, difficulty in micturition and weakness in some muscle groups and dislocation of ankle joint. He has undergone series of surgery: bowel evisceration, colostomy, internal and external fixator with reversal of colostomy. Presently he cannot stand up nor walk. As a result of decreased movement, he developed pressure ulcer wound within his coccyx.

He has been through many different hospitals already. Per his current physicians here in Nigeria, Chukwuebuka needs urgent medical attention in Mayo Clinic Rochester, Minnesota. The estimated cost to complete this is $117585 US dollars.

Here are the estimated costs break down: $6750 for medical visa and flight fee. $3400 for assistant traveler flight fee. $85770 for actual medical bills, $2350 for medical equipment, $11625 for 4weeks transition care unit with PT/OT activities and $7690 for feeding, accommodation and general daily miscellaneous events. The actual medical bill hopefully is expected to cover gastric, ortho, urology, vascular and nervous system medical interventions.

With his powerful resiliency, Ebuka remains very optimistic about the future. Any type of donations here will go a long way in changing the life of this wonderful boy.

We appreciate your help, donations and thoughts.
