Skyler and Marvin were in their travel house sleeping and were struck by lightning at 8 am on August 8th this summer. Gratefully, they are living to tell their experience. Unfortunately, the van won't start.

Skyler had just put all of his savings into the project and was on his maiden voyage across the country visiting his Nana who witnessed the event and saw nothing but white light surrounding the van.

My name is Jenna Rebecca and I am Skyler's mother and Marvin is my grand-cat. Marvin and Skyler have been traveling together since before the travel house was built. Marvin's first trip was to my home in Alaska.

 

Skyler is down to his last $50 after realizing that the insurance company would not cover the damage caused by lightning. On the day of the strike, Skyler had the intention to head home and work towards opening a restaurant with a friend. Skyler's love of food and cooking has been a beautiful expression of his creativity and kindness.

I know I am his mother and all mothers believe their children are worthy of only the best life has to offer, but when life deals a lightning strike...well, what are the chances?!...The Hopi say, it's the mark of a shaman to be struck by lightning...

We are seeking help to get the van back up and running so Skyler can drive his home to California from Oklahoma and fulfill his dream.
