On Monday, January 5, 2015, Cady & Chris McCarty and their two children Evie (5) and Finn (4) lost their home and wonderful dog to a fire.
While we are all so happy that the family is safe and healthy, recovery is a long process. Many of you have reached out offering to help, and the McCarty family is undoubtedly grateful. They're still getting back on their feet and it will take a while to finally take inventory of the things that were lost by fire or even smoke damage.
In lieu of items that don't currently have a place to be stored, donate a few dollars to help the family replace the necessary lost items once they are able to move into a new home.
Think of the things in your own home that add up: clothing, furniture, bedding/bath linens, toiletries, cleaning supplies, cooking supplies, storage, children's toys & books, family photos on the walls, even Christmas decorations ("We wanted to get rid of our tree by the 6th. Maybe next time we should specify how we want to dispose of the tree." -Cady)
Your extra few dollars can make all of the difference in making a house a home for a wonderful family that has never blinked when others needed a hand.
More updates to come, and I'm sure the McCartys are more than happy to invite you all to the very first party in the new home that you all helped build.
