Max Flinn's Stolen Car & Gear Fund
Donation protected
Many of you know that I am making living as a full-time musician these days. Last week my 2011 Chevy Tahoe was stolen in front of my house in Montrose. Inside the vehicle were 3 large PA speakers, rolling cart, stands, CDs of my original music and a large case of miscellaneous items. I have insurance on the vehicle itself but the gear is not covered unfortunately. A police report was immediately filed and my auto insurance claim is in the works.
I have parked in this same spot for about 3 years and never had an issue. The reason these items stay in the vehicle is because they are very heavy and not the kind of thing that a thief could steal with ease. I believe these were simply car thieves and I was not targeted for the contents of my vehicle although there is no way to truly know. Additionally there is simply not enough room in my small apartment for these large items. High dollar items like guitars, mixing board, guitar amp, etc. that can be easily transported live in my apartment full-time.
I estimate it was around $7,000 + based on what I can remember. Any additional monies raised will go towards insuring this gear through MusicPro Insurance and a down payment on a new vehicle.
It is a very humbling and vulnerable experience to be publicly asking for help but I really need it. This equipment is essential to making my living as a musician.
Thank you for your consideration in helping me get back on my feet. If you can't spare any money then you can also help by simply sharing this post on your social media platforms or with anyone who may have the means to be of assistance.
Please don't hesitate to contact me personally with any questions or concerns you may have regarding this campaign.
