Maurice & Jo Barnett's Help! ❤️

Donation protected

Maurice and Venita Jo Barnett dedicated their whole life giving to the Lord, and giving to others, no matter  the need! Maurice spent his whole adult life preaching the gospel; 63 yrs. The last 50 years at one congregation, where he was also an Elder. He was a popular evangelist in his day and held many gospel meetings throughout the country. The last few years have been very hard on both Maurice and Jo. After they lost their home of 40 years (where they raised 3 children), their health got gradually worse, to where both are now in and out of the hospital on a regular basis with too many ailments to list, but suffice to say that his days of preaching have come to an end with increased dimentia and physical weakness. I must note that the small congregation has generously been providing him with a regular income each month for the last year, in hopes that he would get better and return to his duties to preach and help shepherd the flock. However, the church has limited funds and can no longer provide his salary. With the small amount of Social Security each month and very little savings almost gone, our family is trying to cover their monthly expenses. This is a financial burden that we are unable to sustain for very long. My mother, their only daughter, has moved in with them to provide 24/7 care. She gladly does this because we are to love and care for our parents, but the stress of not having the funds is very  worrisome on her and her family. The family as a whole continue to pull resources financally, but limited funds all around will not resolve their dilemma. We have attempted and still hold out slight hope that they can quality for the Assisted Living Care program the government provides in the state of Arizona. To date, they do not qualify medically. We were dismayed at this decision, since both have had numerous surgeries, minor strokes, the onset of dimentia in Maurice, possible onset of Parkinson's and body pain overall. Jo is in constant pain with hip and joint ailments. Both require the assist of walkers to move around. We continue to pursue assistance from the state and hold out slim hope, as this is traditionally a very long process and cannot estimate when or if they will qualify. I am not telling you this because I am their eldest grandchild and our love for them is boundless, but they have been and are the most giving grandparents. They opened their home to anyone in need. They provided support to their family when asked. When you hear the words "they are the salt of the earth" their names and picture pop up. My family and I spent many years together in the bosom of their love and we cherish this most of all. We continue with that love.

They need your help! We need your help! While we are there for their physical needs, we cannot provide for their financial needs much longer. This is beyond our capability.  Medical bills, rent, utilities and sustenance must move forward even as we strive to find ways to reduce the monthly outlay. They need regular medical attention very soon, if not already. We respectfully request that you help us give back to two people that spent their lives giving to those in need (whether spiritual or physical) and continue to dedicate their lives to the Lord and his gospel. Please provide and help us with a generous and giving heart! Thanking you in advance,

Respectfully Submitted,
