Kilimanjaro September 2024
Donation protected
Hello and thank you for visiting our GoFundMe page!
Hi there, my name is Matt Nebel, and along with Neil Padfield we are undertaking our biggest fundraising challenge so far - to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro this September. Standing at just under 6000m tall, it is an expedition that will test us physically and mentally.

But this climb isn't just about testing us physically; it's about raising awareness and funds for several causes that are incredibly close to our hearts - Rock2Recovery, the SBSA and IPSEA.
Rock2Recovery is an extraordinary charity that provides essential support to veterans and their families, helping them recover from mental health issues and adjust to civilian life. Having helplessly witnessed a friend from the military tragically succumb to crippling mental illness and start to heal thanks to the amazing work they do, we have witnessed first hand the incredible impact that Rock2Recovery has on our heroes' lives.
The SBSA
The Association is a charity dedicated to supporting a maritime special forces unit of the United Kingdom’s Royal Navy, and the association aims to provide comprehensive support to its members.
Importance of the Association in 2024
Comprehensive Support System: The Association provides a vital support system for a highly specialized and often overlooked community. Their services ensure that former and current personnel and their families receive the care and assistance they need during and after their service.
Mental Health and Well-Being: Recognising the unique mental health challenges faced by special forces personnel, the association offers tailored psychological support and counseling services, which are crucial for maintaining well-being.
Transition to Civilian Life: The transition from military to civilian life can be particularly challenging for special forces personnel due to the nature of their work. The SBS Association’s transition assistance helps individuals find new careers and integrate into civilian society.

IPSEA (Independent Provider of Special Education Advice) is a UK charity dedicated to supporting children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). With a huge increase in diagnoses in recent years the work they do is more relevant than ever - see below
Increasing Demand: With growing awareness and diagnosis of SEND conditions, the demand for IPSEA’s services has increased. They play a critical role in addressing the gap between what the law provides and what families often receive.
Navigating Complex Systems: The legal and educational systems can be daunting for families. IPSEA’s expertise helps them understand and assert their rights, ensuring better educational outcomes for children with SEND.
Supporting Vulnerable Families: Many families struggle to access appropriate support and education for their children with SEND. IPSEA’s services provide crucial support, particularly for those who cannot afford private legal advice.
Legal and Policy Changes: In 2024, as education policies continue to evolve, IPSEA’s role in interpreting and advocating within the framework of these changes is vital. They ensure that reforms benefit rather than disadvantage children with SEND.
IPSEA’s work is crucial in ensuring that children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities receive the support and education they deserve, promoting equality and inclusion in the UK educational system.

This expedition is more than just a personal challenge; it's a way to give back and support those who have given so much for us. But I need your help. Your donation, no matter how big or small, will contribute towards directly supporting Rock2Recovery & IPSEA, allowing them to continue their vital work.
We are committed to this challenge and to these charities, and with your support, we can reach new heights together. Please consider donating and sharing this page with your friends and family. Every share, every donation, makes a difference to someone in crisis.
Thank you for your support and for being part of this journey.
