Hi! I'm Matías Mendoza Pinto, and I'm three months old. I'm Venezuelan. Only few days after I was born I suffered of hypoglycemia, and I had my first convulsion. I was hospitalized with only 18 days of born and although they controlled what was happening to me and steady me, I infected with a bacteria name Enterobacter Aerogenes. This bacteria putt me down and they had to admitted me to the intensive care unit.
While I was in the intensive care unit I had an hemorrhage in the left ventricle of the brain, that makes me convulse almost 30 times per day.
I have been treated by different doctors from diverges publics and privates hospital. My parents are desperate because the doctors haven't discovered the adequate treatment to control de convulsions. Besides, my country's situation is not helping so much, because my parents can't find the medicines, ailment or reactive I need for my medical studies and my health. Some of the medications are expire since December, 2015, although they use them because is the only choice we have. Also, my parents are super worries of their economical situation because they had spend almost all the saves they had and still don't know what's my health problem, but they're still fighting against this obstacles. Las time I was hospitalized was on March, 21 of this year, for 16 days and I was discharged like the other times in the same circumstance when I was admitted. Right now, the convulsions are more aggressive and lasting, and my parents are afraid that I suffer more burnouts to my brain.

Hola Soy Matías Mendoza Pinto, y tengo 3 meses. A los pocos días de nacido sufrí hipoglicemia, y tuve mi primera convulsión. Fui hospitalizado con apenas 18 días de nacido y aunque lograron controlar lo que me había pasado y estabilizarme, me contagié con la bacteria Enterobacter Aerogenes. Esta bacteria me descompenzó y tuvieron que ingresarme en la UTIN (Unidad de Terapia Intensiva Neonatal).
Estando en UTIN tuve una hemorragia en el ventrículo izquierdo del cerebro, que hace que convulsione hasta 30 veces al día.
Mis papás están desesperados, porque los distintos médicos que me han atendido, en diferentes hospitales y clínicas privadas no han logrado dar con el tratamiento adecuado para controlar las convulsiones. Además, la situación de mi país -Venezuela- no ayuda porque cada vez es más difícil encontrar los medicamentos, o reactivos para realizar determinadas pruebas. Algunos de los medicamentos que encuentran están vencidos desde Diciembre, pero me los tienen que poner igual porque no se consigue mas nada. También les preocupa mucho a mis papás que los recursos económicos se acaben sin encontrar un diagnóstico y tratamiento
La última vez que estuve hospitalizado fue el 21/03/16 durante 16 días y fui dado de alta, al igual que en otras ocasiones en las mismas circunstancias en las que ingresé.
Ahora mismo, los ataques son mas agresivos y mas duraderos, y mis papás temen por el desgaste físico que esto le está ocasionando a mi cerebro.
