Help Our Beloved Mail Carrier Get Back on Her Feet
My mom Mary Gede has spent years driving her mail route with pride in Independence with a smile, and unmatched dedication. Rain or shine, she shows up for the neighborhood she loves—and they love her right back. Being a mail carrier isn’t just a job to her; it’s her passion, her purpose, and her second family.
Recently, my mom was diagnosed with cancer, along with serious heart issues that have forced her to stop working while she focuses on treatment and recovery. Unfortunately, she does not receive any disability pay during this time, leaving her without income while facing mounting medical bills and daily expenses.
Despite everything, her biggest goal is to get healthy and return to the community she adores—Independence, where she delivers mail and has built lasting relationships over the years. She misses her route deeply and misses all the puppy loves, she talks about it every day.
We’re asking for your support to help ease the financial burden while she heals. Every donation will go directly toward her medical expenses, transportation to and from her John Hopkins appointments, and basic living needs while she’s unable to work.
If you’ve ever received a letter from her, seen her wave from the truck, let her love on your puppy, or had a package dropped off with care—you know the kind of person she is. Now it’s our turn to deliver for her.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and prayers.
Thank you for loving my mama❤️
