Our family is grieving the loss of Marti Hudak, who passed away at the age of 80 after a brief illness. She was the matriarch of our family—a steady, grounding presence, an incredible mother and grandmother who gave selflessly and loved fiercely.

Marti deeply cherished all of her grandchildren, and she took special joy in caring for her grandson with autism, providing daily support with patience, consistency, and unconditional love. She showed up for him—and for each of them—every single day, without hesitation or expectation.

Her life was rooted in faith, service, and music. As an Elder in her church and a longtime choir member, Marti led quietly and faithfully. Music was one of the great loves of her life, and she found deep community through her volunteer work with Brandywine Friends of Old-Time Music and the Mountain Laurel Autoharp Gathering.

She also held a lifelong love for Ocean City, New Jersey—a place that brought her peace, joy, and treasured family memories. The shore was where she felt most at home.

As we prepare to lay Marti to rest, our family is facing the unexpected financial burden that comes with burial and end-of-life expenses. During this incredibly difficult time, our hope is simply to honor her life in a way that reflects the love, service, and devotion she gave so freely to others.
