Help Marlowe Move Freely: Support Her SPML Surgery

Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,

We are reaching out to share the story of our remarkable daughter, Marlowe, a true fighter since day one. Born two months premature, Marlowe has faced challenges from the very start, but her spirit and resilience have shone through every obstacle. Diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy, which primarily affects the muscles in her legs, Marlowe’s journey has been one of hard-fought victories.

At just 3 years old, after years of therapy and sheer determination, Marlowe took her first independent steps—a moment that filled our hearts with hope and pride. Now, at 5, she continues to make strides, but her mobility is still limited by muscle tightness that affects her ability to walk and play freely. Though she’s not in pain, this tightness holds her back from living life as fully as we know she can.

That’s why we’re pursuing a specialized surgery called Selective Percutaneous Myofascial Lengthening (SPML). This procedure is not available in Canada, so we’ll be traveling to Texas for the surgery. SPML will release the tightness in Marlowe’s muscles, giving her the chance to move with more ease, confidence, and independence than ever before. While this surgery is unique, it offers an incredible opportunity for Marlowe to unlock the freedom of movement she deserves.

However, the cost of this specialized surgery, along with the necessary aftercare and therapy, is beyond what we can manage alone. We’re asking for help from our community to make this dream a reality for Marlowe.
