Help Marian Dubois Morgan Secure Compassionate Release
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Phil and I am raising funds on behalf of Marian Morgan for legal representation, and to bring awareness to her situation. We believe that a compassionate release could bring her home and these funds would pay the attorney we need to complete this process.
Marian has received an unprecedented, incredibly harsh sentence on a first-time, white-collar crime and has been in the Bureau of Prisons for 15 years thus far. She was originally sentenced to 35 years and 9 months. This is the longest sentence ever handed down to a female in America for her charge, with her alleged fraud amount being MUCH less than so many others. Historically, only Bernard Madoff has received a longer sentence than Marian Morgan. In comparison you have Sam Bankman-Fried (25 years), Elizabeth Holmes (11 years) & the Chrisley’s (12 and 7 years), just to name a few examples.
Marian is almost 70 years old and has significant health issues. She also has aging and frail family members at home that need her. She has been nothing but a model prisoner, and prior to her incarceration has a documented lifetime of helping others. Her professional background includes corporate training, motivational speaking and many direct sales accomplishments.
It is heartbreaking to see so many sentences in the news that pale in comparison to what Marian received, all because she chose to go to trial and maintained her innocence. The ‘trial penalty’ added 20+ years to her sentence and has her effectively looking at a life sentence, when others in her case have been home for years after taking plea deals.
A life sentence for a financial crime is extreme and unjust in every way. We are asking for your help to bring Marian home to her waiting husband and family. 15 years is enough. We sincerely thank you for your support.
