I’m writing this with disbelief, and a shattered heart.
My eldest daughter, Mariah S’mone Higgins, was in a horrible accident in Atlanta, Ga on June 28. “Riah”, which we call her, was 25 years old, loved to make everyone smile.
There are no words to express my pain. I keep praying to wake up from this bad dream. I shouldn't have to bury my daughter, and worst of all, I have no idea how to move forward without my child.
Mariah was full of life — bright, kind, and deeply loved by everyone who knew her. She loved spending her days spoiling her nephew. I am disheartened that I must bury my child and maintain a brave face through my grief for her sisters and brothers. Her absence leaves an unimaginable hole in our lives.
I am now faced with the painful task of planning her funeral — something no parent should ever have to do. I want to give my baby a proper farewell, one that honors her spirit and gives our family and community a chance to say goodbye with dignity.
Our Family is Seeking Your Help
The cost of a funeral in Indiana is overwhelming, and I simply cannot do this alone. We are hoping to raise $8,000 to help cover:
Funeral home and burial costs
Transporting her remains from Georgia to Indiana and service arrangements
️ Every Gift Makes a Difference
Whether you can give $5 or $500, your support means the world to our family. If you're unable to donate, please consider sharing this with your network. Every act of kindness helps carry us through this time of grief.
Sincerely, thank you for helping me honor my baby and give her the peaceful rest she deserves.
With love and gratitude,
