On April 15, 2024, Mariah eclipsed 50 years around the sun. Then on Sept 19th our world flipped upside down as we learned she’d been diagnosed with Breast Cancer. She’s faced adversity before many times including two c-sections for our sons Brandon (24) and Xander (15) and a miscarriage in between.

A little more about Mariah. She grew up in Fargo, ND where her parents still live (Rhonda & Kirk). She has a younger Sister (Leiah) and two brothers (Zach & Morgan) and a bundle of nieces, nephews and other extended family spread throughout the country. While raising our sons, she went to night school and earned not only a bachelor’s degree in accounting but went on to earning a master’s degree in business as well. Mariah has seen a gambit of things in her life. From dozens of blizzards and ice storms to a 500-year flood in Grand Forks, ND in ‘97. She’s traveled the world to places like New York City and Germany. Her love of animals and all things that grow are something out of a middle earth novel. Some of her interests include reading (I think Anne Rice & Stephen King top that list), crafting, and video games. She’s also a movie buff on anything Science Fiction, Horror, and Fantasy. (We are all nerds in our house and proud of it).

On Sept 26, 2024, we’ll celebrate 26 years of marriage. Life hasn’t been easy, but we’ve pulled through. She’s survived being married to me for all those years and lord knows I didn’t’ make it simple. Her resolve and support of me through my battle with an addiction to alcohol proves she’s ready to fight this disease and win. I’m asking everyone to help us fight this battle. We aren’t the type of folks to ask for help, we prefer to earn our way, but we’re learning this isn’t something we can do by ourselves.

We are in a battle against cancer and are going to win. We’re asking for donations to help with monthly expenses and the pending medical bills. We’re trying to cut where we can, but honestly we’d already been doing that this year due to other economic factors. Anything you can spare helps.
