On Friday morning, August 25th, Marco was riding his bicycle on his usual commute up Fairfax Ave in Los Angeles when a car hit him from behind consequently throwing him off his bike into the busy intersection where a truck rolled onto his lower abdomen, and in an attempt to avoid him, instead stopped right on him. He suffered a spinal injury, a broken abdomen, and a crushed bladder. 

He has undergone over 20 hours of surgery. A plate was put on his spine along with a plate and screws on his pelvis. He will be in a wheelchair for 3 months and then he will hopefully make the move to standing up with a brace. Thankfully he can wiggle his toes and he experienced almost no damage to his upper body. 

He has a wife and two young children to support and every day he doesn't work he doesn't make money. Marco has a tremendous spirit and is easily one of the kindest, most hardworking people I've ever encountered. We have a lawyer with a specialty in bike/car collisions on the case, as well as a social worker, and an amazing medical team at Cedars-Sinai. 

His medical bills are through the roof and it's a miracle that he's even alive. Please find it in your heart to help him and his family out. Many thanks! We will keep you posted on his recovery.
